Navigator Academy

Funded by a grant from The California Endowment, our Navigator Academy offers free training to health navigators, community health workers and others who assist our community’s most under-served populations not only with accessing available health care services but also with finding help for other aspects of their lives that impact their health: housing, food, legal services and so on—including helping them understand their options for health coverage. Under CHN’s leadership, this new training program uses a curriculum developed collaboratively by representatives of multiple community organizations and is designed to help navigators do an even more comprehensive job of assisting their clients. An Advisory Committee works with the Academy director to help focus curriculum on real-time needs.
